It was odd this morning we woke to lovely sunshine, very unusual for a Bank Holiday Monday! After yesterday when Mag and I did next to nothing on grey Sunday - it pains me to admit this we even watched the boring Belguim Grand Prix we had to do something today.
So after breakfast we packed a small picnic and headed off on our bikes, mine running really smooth after a trip to the repair shop! We took the tree lined route to the weed covered Loompit Lake where loads of yachts were out on the River Orwell making the most of a beautiful day. Through the marina to the river path which leads to Levington Creek where sadly for some reason I can't understand there is a no cycling sign:( We ignored for most of the way just getting off when a few walkers passed. Back on the country lanes , past Levington church towards Nacton where we found another lovelt tree lined bridle way leading to Nacton shores, there was even a horse coming the other way:) The car park was full at the shores with loads of dog walkers and picnickers having fun and we joined them to have half our picnic. Rested and refreshed we continued through Nacton village, over the A14 and past the Suffolk Show Ground to Bucklesham, then Kirton, Falkenham and down past Kings Fleet to the River Deben where we stopped for the second half of our picnic with nobody about:)
At Felixstowe Ferry because of the Bank Holiday crowds Mag headed home along the road while I went and looked at the jetty with loads of crabbers. I slowly biked the beach path past the golf course avoiding the many walkers. At The Dip it was back on the road to the Fludgers and home. A great 4 hours out a lot of the time away from the crowds.
I tried my GT-31(gps) and it failed to record the session so I think it is dead and am now looking for a replacement - can anyone help?
